National Disability Insurance Scheme

Research about the NDIS to have a full understanding of who they are and what they do.

“The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Ours role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australian with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.”

The NDIS is a new way of providing individualise support for people with disability, their families and carers.

The NDIS acts under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act) and National Disability Insurance Scheme Rules.

All decisions made by the NDIA are made under the NDIS Act, the operational guidelines also help people understand how the NDIA applies relevant laws in the daily operations of the NDIS.
