The Design Factors of the concept design. The importance of the design factors is to understand where you are going with the design and what you are including within your design along with your priorities.
User-centred design
The user centred design is to base the project on those who will be using the space along with the requirements given by the client. However, those who will use the space are to be most importantly thought of when designing the space.
Legal Responsibilities
The legal responsibilities of this project will be along the Australian work place health and safety scheme, the Australian Standards for Accessibility and Mobility 1428.1.
Sustainability
During this project all materials, products and design ideas should be as sustainable as can be using sustainable alternatives to the usual building products used, this may implement an extra cost however for a more sustainable design it should be worthwhile.
Elements and Principles of Design
The elements that should be empathised on this project would be colour space and texture. Texture and colour being important for those who are intellectually disabled to help with interactions with the space and the encouragement of creativity. Space is always important for any project, the definition of each space is important as it encourages structure and organisation.
The principles for this project would be to encourage movement, variety, balance and harmony. Where there is movement throughout the space and due to this there should be a variety of spaces but to avoid chaos in these spaces balance and harmony will be brought in to ensure that the spaces do not overwhelm those who are sing the space.
Design Strategies
The design strategy for this project is to do as much research as possible to understand the users of the space and what the client needs and what their services are to those who use the space. To ensure the space is as inclusive as possible. The space should be comfortable for those in it and have a sense of encouragement and inclusiveness to the space.
Technologies
All the technologies used for the project shall be with the idea of the use of the most modern technology such as the VR room that will be implemented within the design to make the learning centre as future forward as possible for the design to last as long as possible.
